Interesting... this is the contrapositive of one of the most fundamental truths in Daniism -- I always say, "You keep what you earn."
However, I'm not sure I believe one ever has nothing. I think most people just don't look at all the wonderful things they DO have so they can't see them... Most people are so caught up in wanting what isn't that they're never grateful for simply what IS.
I think happiness is found by being grateful for every little bit of beauty and truth in your life. At least, that's where I find it -- in being grateful for such things and in seeking to protect them from being destroyed by an indifferent (or downright malicious) world.
